My beautiful cousin Carrie is a senior this year and I can barely believe it! We went downtown to take her portraits, and the backdrops of the buildings and scenery worked perfectly for the looks she was going for to end her high school years in style. These pictures here are some of my favorites from the downtown shops, buildings and fountains. After a quick outfit change we went to the park, which was right there downtown, and we took pictures by the river and on the playground. A change of outfit and scenery can really alter the tone of the picture. The outfit Carrie chose for the building shots, along with the background that buildings provided, made the pictures turn out sharp and edgy. When we went to the river and the park she changed into a soft flowy white top with jean shorts and the pictures turned out with a softer tone, they were more feminine. So a downtown spot like that can offer you a variety of picture angles, and we can capture those different tones all in one sitting.

One of my favorite parts about photography in Fort Myers is that we have so many picturesque spots close by that we often take for granted. I live 20 minutes from the beach and I rarely ever catch as coastal sunset. All it takes is for us to slow down and instead of cooking in, or going out to dinner, pack a picnic dinner and a quilt and head to the beach to have dinner as the sun goes down, and of course, bring your camera, the sunset allows for breathtaking pictures and serene lighting...so have fun with it!

Whether it's the coastal sunset or a mid day sun, the beach always gives you some great picture opportunities. Some of my favorite senior pictures and engagements pictures I have seen and taken have been at the beach. If you love the beach, make your next portrait setting at any of our beautiful spots, such as Naples Beach, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, Captiva, or if you don't mind the drive check out Siesta Key in Sarasota, which is where we shot some of our favorite senior pictures. Also, don't be afraid to have fun in the water (just keep the camera dry!)...don't worry about your hair or your clothes, get in the ocean and pose for some amazing photographs!
